Song style

Hard-hitting covers

Sharp counts, big hits and fast formations. These covers reward timing and a group that moves as one.

  • What it sounds like

Heavy beats and quick changes of direction, taught slowly first and then at full speed.

  • What to wear

Clothes you can move in and clean sneakers that only come out inside the studio.

  • Where to start

Starter, even if you've danced before. Your instructor will suggest a level after the warm-up.

How a class runs

Dohyun teaches the style at every level.

  1. 01

    Step 1: Warm up

Joints and legs, with a short run through last class's section.

  2. 02

    Step 2: Learn the section

Eight counts at a time, said out loud and then danced to the music.

  3. 03

    Step 3: Drill the hits

The sharpest moments, repeated until the whole group lands together.

  4. 04

    Step 4: Run it

The cover so far, start to finish, in two groups so everyone sees it.

  5. 05

    Step 5: Cool down

A slow stretch while the instructor tells you what's coming next week.
